The interview process at Katana​

While each role may differ slightly, here’s the high-level structure we follow so you know exactly what to expect. We keep our hiring process simple, transparent, and designed to give you a real feel for what it’s like to work here. Every step is a chance for both of us to learn if there’s a strong match.​

Automated Screening & AI Disclosure: We use automated tools including AI to help review applications and filter candidates. Final decisions are always made by people. If you’re in a place that requires it, we’ll ask your consent. Ask us anytime about what this means.

Application review

Every application is reviewed using a combination of automated tools (including AI) and human review. The tools help us surface candidates whose skills align with the role, but final decisions are always made by people on our team.​

Pre-screening call

A quick conversation with our People & Culture team. This is a chance for us to learn more about your background and motivations, and for you to ask any initial questions about Katana and the role.

Role fit evaluation

You’ll meet directly with your potential manager to talk more deeply about your experience, the specifics of the role, and how your skills align with the team’s needs.

Case study

We’ll give you a real-world challenge to work on, designed to reflect the kinds of problems you’d solve at Katana. The goal isn’t perfection, it’s to see how you think and approach problems.
